Music always played a major role in Motherwell's painting process - to Alban Berg's Lyrical Suite he produced a series of thousands of abstract paintings on paper and in later years Motherwell also integrated music sheets from Mozart, Strawinsky or Debussy into his work.

In part 2 of this digital series, Johannes Brömmel, a Viennese composer, talks to an art educator from the Bank Austria Kunstforum Wien about the musical component in Motherwell's work and explains how he drew inspiration by Motherwells art for his musical piece "Blackmountain".
