In November 2007, Bank Austria Creditanstalt will award the Georg Eisler Art Acquisition Prize for the 10th time. Dedicated to the memory of painter Georg Eisler, who passed away in 1998, the prize is endowed with €12,000, making it one of the most highly endowed art awards in Austria.
The prize is awarded annually to an Austrian artist. The decision is made by the Art Advisory Board of Bank Austria Creditanstalt, with jury members appointed for a five-year term.
This year, a new jury was selected, composed of:
- Dr. Rudi Fuchs, former Director of the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam
- Toni Stooss, Director of the Museum der Moderne, Salzburg
- Eckhard Schneider, Director of Kunsthaus Bregenz
- Dr. Susanne Berchtold, representing Dr. Alice Eisler for the Georg Eisler Foundation
- Dr. Ingried Brugger, Director of the BA-CA Kunstforum
- Dr. Ariane Neuberger, Head of the BA-CA Art Collection
